Hello Kitty Run Malaysia 2016

March 31, 2016 0 Comments
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!

If you have read one of my previous blog posts, you would know that I love joining fun run with cute theme.

Earlier this month, both my bf and I had participated in Hello Kitty Run Malaysia.

Whether you are a Hello Kitty fan or not, you just can't resist the cuteness of Hello Kitty.
"I HAVE to join this Kitty run!", that was what I told myself once I found out about this.

It is Hello Kitty, everyone loves Hello Kitty.

Until one day, I found out that Hello Kitty is actually a little girl.

Instant shocked!

Please don't tell me that Mickey Mouse is actually not a mouse.
Knowing that Mickey Mouse is not a mouse would destroy not only my childhood memory but also the rest of my life.

Okay, let's skip the part where Hello Kitty is not a cat and Mickey Mouse is not a mouse story.

Let's run with me!

This happens when you are trying to be sweaty and cute at the same time, haha! xD

I am not really a Hello Kitty fan but seriously, this had really caught my attention.
So now, can we please have a Mickey Mouse or Disney run already?

Mickey Mouse fan here! (*raising up my hand)

Okay, back to Hello Kitty.

This is the race entry pack that we got and everything has a Hello Kitty print on it, CUTE!

You know what attracted me the most?
That red and white stripes Hello Kitty t-shirt.

Yeah, it looks so colourful and childish for an adult.
In my opinion, girls wearing it should be fine but for guys? I can't imagine that.

Ta-dah! Imagine no more!

Bf looks so weird in that t-shirt and he doesn't seem very happy about it.

Sorry for tarnishing your image but I promise, no more funny t-shirt next time. ;)

It was a 5 KM fun run with three fruity pit stops along the way and water were provided at every pit stop.

The first flag off time was 8:00 am and we had to be at the starting point 15 minutes before the flag off time.

Gather all the human Hello Kitty! xD

Just right before the flag off time, someone came to say hi.

SURPRISE!

Hello Kitty is here and she is wearing the same outfit as us, LOL!

3, 2, 1, GO!

Zone 1: Strawberry Zone

Zone 2: Mango Zone

Zone 3: Durian Zone

And finally, the finishing line!

Oh yeah, we made it!

That satisfying kind of feeling when you see the word "FINISH", so good, so good.

I prefer to exercise or run in the morning because it feels more refreshing than you exercise in the evening.
Gotta start the day right!

Goody bag to collect after you cross the finishing line.
Time to recharge ourselves a little after the 5 KM run with some water and banana.

But I was craving for a McDonald's burger. xD

Going crazy over the Hello Kitty medal and pluhie, cuteness overload!

Here are some of the carnival games for you to participate.

And winners get a Hello Kitty marshmallow.

Yeah, I know. It is just a plain normal white marshmallow wrapped with a Hello Kitty wrapper but it is still Hello Kitty, right?
It still makes a difference. xD

When there is a chance to take picture, you take it!

Even Badtz-Maru was there with us.

Have you heard about the Hello Kitty Gourment Cafe at Sunway Pyramid?

They were there selling Hello Kitty cupcakes and cookies.

Can this be any cuter?

Hello Kitty cupcakes and cookies, how could you ever eat that?
Those are way too cute to be eaten.

Completed my second fun run for 2016, yay!

Looking forward to participating in more fun run like this.
I don't think that I have the stamina to complete a marathon so a fun run is enough for me. xD

That's it for this post and I hope you guys enjoy reading it.

I am a little slow with my blog this month because I have been really busy for the past few weeks.
I will try my best to post as much as possible. ;)

See you guys in my next post!

Love,
Rachel.

Visited Parts Of Jakarta

March 26, 2016 0 Comments
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog.

Phew, it has been a long week and finally I have the time to blog again.

On last January, my bf and I flew over to Jakarta to attend his friend's wedding so I thought, since we are going to Jakarta, why not we spend some time visiting Jakarta?

That is what happens when you are craving for a holiday.

It was a 5 days and 4 nights trip to Jakarta but due to the terror attack in Jakarta (click here if you don't know about the news), we were not dare to go out that often because the bombing happened somewhere around 5 to 10 minutes walk away from our hotel.

It was quite scary to know that the bombing took place at somewhere so close to our hotel. Thank God that both of us were safe and my condolences to those who had lost their friends or families during the terror attack.

In this blog post, I am going to share some of the places that we visited in Jakarta.

1. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah

Thinking about spending only one day to visit the whole Indonesia?
Yes, you can and yes, you heard me right. ONLY ONE DAY.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) is a park that is located at East Jakarta and it consists of mini version of places in Jakarta, you can see Bali, East Jawa and all sort of places there.

It is really a great park to explore, you get to see different parts of Jakarta and also to know more about their cultures.

Bali

 West Kalimantan

East Java

They also have a theme park for kids in TMII and you need to pay Rp 10,000 for the entrance fee.

Overall, it was a nice place to visit if the weather wasn't that hot.

TMII is a really huge park so maybe you can consider of renting a motorcycle to go around the park. We actually explored the park by foot and it was really tiring.

There is a customer service office near to the main entrance if you have any inquiries. Go there, get a map and you are ready to explore Jakarta.

Happy exploring Jakarta!

2. Aeon Mall BSD City

Looking for a great mall to shop at?

Aeon Mall BSD City

We had been to a few malls in Jakarta and Aeon Mall was one of our favourite malls.

It is the type of mall where it has everything that you need.
Variety of restaurants for the food lovers. Variety of clothing stores for the shopaholics. Variety of book stores for the book lovers.

You name it, they have it!

Let's talk a little about our lunch at Aeon Mall.

There is a huge food court at the highest level of Aeon Mall where you can find variety of food there from Indonesian local cuisine to whatever cuisine that you are craving for.

We came across this food stall called D'PENYETS and we decided to give it a try.

My bf ordered Ikan Joget Sunda. It is basically fried fish (I have no idea what fish is that) and fried tempeh with rice.

The fish tasted really good, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

 Ikan Joget Sunda

Whereas for me, I ordered Ikan Bawal Penyet. It is the same type of dish but with a different type of fish.
FYI, ikan bawal is actually pomfret fish.

They gave us this chili sauce to eat with but oh my, it was so damn spicy.

Don't forget to take a short walk at Sakura Light Tunnel that is located beside of Food Culture from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Although those are fake flowers with lights but they still look beautiful and magical to me.

Other than that, they also have a water fountain for the kids to play.

Lastly, the Sakura Illumination Park which is located at Aeon Mall outdoor garden.

I did some shopping when we were there and I got this super cute sweater from H&M.

It is the BEST DAY EVER when you can have all of these food (soda, burger, fries and cupcake)!

I regretted not buying this Mickey Mouse cupcake plushie and I couldn't find it in KL. Why didn't I just buy it?

If you spot this plushie anywhere in KL, please don't forget to tell me.

3. National Monument Indonesia (MONAS)

We went to National Monument Indonesia and it was quite nice and relaxing to walk around at this place.

The entrance fee to the park itself is free but you need to pay Rp. 7,500 for the ticket to the observation deck of MONAS.

The queue to MONAS observation deck was crazy when we were there so we decided to just walk around the park.

Quick tip for you guys who are planing to visit MONAS, come early.

Three different places that we visited in Jakarta, of course there were few other places that we went to but mostly were shopping malls and we were not allowed to take picture in the shopping malls.

We went to Grand Indonesia, Plaza Indonesia, Sarimah Thamrin Plaza and Tamini Square.
In my opinion, malls in Jakarta are more or less the same as our malls in KL but seriously, Jakarta has a lot of shopping malls compared to KL.

We wanted to go to Central Park Mall because we read a lot of good reviews about that place but too bad, we didn't have the time. Surely I will visit Jakarta again in the future!

Okay, that is it for this blog post.

I hope you guys enjoy reading and I shall update you guys on another blog post soon.

See ya!

Love,
Rachel.
