[Review]: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure

March 31, 2017 4 Comments
Hello Bloggies!

It has been a while since I wrote a review blog post. I have been trying out a few products lately, mostly skin care products but I was too lazy to take a before and after picture of myself. Please excuse my laziness. 😔

Despite the laziness that I was feeling earlier, here I am sitting in front of my laptop typing out another review post on nail polish.

I am not the type of girl who likes makeup very much (my skin is not the perfect canvas for makeup so I gave up a long time ago) but when it comes to nail polish, I am going crazy over it. Bright and colorful nail polishes are my favorite, I don’t really fancy those 3D nail arts because for a rough girl like me, they would break within the first few hours.

I actually love 3D nail arts, those nails are beautiful and if I had nails like that, I swear to God, I would stop washing the dishes and just sit there mesmerizing at my own nails until they break or something, haha! But too bad, they are not suitable for a rough person like me. It would be a miracle if they were able to last for more than 3 days without any breaking or chipping.

That is why a basic manicure works just nice for me but finding a perfect nail polish is not an easy task to do. I need those nail polishes that are able to dry fast, shines that are able to last for a minimum of one week and most importantly, easy to apply.

I went shopping last two weeks and definitely did not intend to purchase any new nail polish. I got them because they were on sales and I thought it would be such a waste if I missed out the promotion that was going on. Blah blah blah, you know the excuses that you would give yourself when you just want to get something for yourself, haha.

It was a buy one free one deal and you would get a free manicure with a minimum purchase of $25, what a deal right? (Still trying to convince myself that it was a great deal)

Okay, let’s see what I got.

I bought the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in two different colors which are #401 Hat's Off To Hue and #671 Moheato. It was a buy one free one deal and I only paid $13.90 for two of them.

Besides that, I also got the Miracle Gel Value Pack which comes with one color and one top coat and this value pack only cost me $14.90. Plus the sales girl gave me the Complete Salon Manicure Dry & Go Drops for free, told ya it was a great deal. 😉

And not to forget about the free manicure that I got from purchasing $25 and above.

Excuse my wrinkly fingers but this color is so beautiful! 😍

Purple is the new pink.

I was using the color #401 Hat's Off To Hue in this picture and I loved it very much. Pastel colors are just so pretty and dreamy. Prefect shade of purple that actually matches my skin tone, love it very much!

Okay, there was one thing that I decided to experiment with.

Here is a snapshot from Sally Hansen's website and it says here "this all-in-one formula delivers up to 10 days of chip-resistant wear" and for a rough person like me, yes, I need this formula the most.

So let's put a test on how chip-resistant this is on me, the rough girl whose nails start to chip after a day old manicure or maybe 3, haha!

The picture above was taken the next day after the manicure, looking shiny and pretty.

One week later...

Still looking shiny as day #1 and no chipping found yet.

Two weeks later...

Only after week #2, it started to lose its shine and started to chip a little bit on my index finger.

Overall, I am quite impressed on how this nail polish managed to hold for two weeks. Definitely scored a 9 out of 10 for being chip-resistant.

For any of you who are as rough as me or someone who needs to do their own housework, try this nail polish out. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Chip-resistant nail polish, checked! ✔

Now I feel like buying more of these nail polishes. Luckily it is already night time (10:00 PM to be exact) while I am typing this out else trust me, the next thing I would do is to change and go out shopping for more nail polish, haha!

What are the nail polishes that you girls usually use?

I tried out nail polishes from Etude House, The Face Shop, Sasa and Models Own and so far the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure shines the brightest, haha!

It says there on their website that it will give a gel-shine finish, I must say, it is true. I love how shiny a gel manicure could give you but too bad, I am too poor to get one of those LED light thingy to dry them. Hence, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure is my alternative to gel nail polish. 😉

Okay, that is it for this post.

So now, go get yourself one of those nail polishes from Sally Hansen!

Happy Painting! 💅

It Felt Like Christmas Time

March 19, 2017 0 Comments
I am secretly in love with the delivery guy.

Not only one delivery guy but a few of them who had been kind enough to deliver my parcel to me. Every delivery guy that came to my house made me feel special and love.

Okay, that is it. I am not going to express my love to the delivery guy anymore, haha!

But do you guys feel happy when you see the delivery guy standing in front of your doorstep with a parcel in his hands? Do you feel the love that he is trying to show you? Do you feel like Christmas all over again?

Have you felt any of these feelings?

Okay, now I sound crazy, haha! What happened to "not going to express my love to the delivery guy anymore"?

I just feel happy, that's all. It is like Santa came early with everything that was on my Christmas wishlist (Although I paid for everything that was on my wishlist 😅).

Online shopping has been one of my favourite activities since I knew the magic behind those mouse clicks. Thank you mouse for serving me well and this time I shopped a little on TaoBao, basically it is a Chinese version of Amazon.

Short story on why I ended up shopping on TaoBao.

I got a new phone last two months and I could not find a nice phone case for it. I am currently using Sony Xperia XZ and somehow most of the shops are selling only iPhone cases. Can somebody please tell me why? It is quite hard to get one nice and cute phone case for my phone but iPhone case is like all over the place. You can practically get whatever casing that your heart desires, I am so jealous of iPhone users. 😒

But at least, I still have TaoBao to save my poor soul, haha.

With a few mouse clicks here and there, waited for weeks before it got to my doorstep and TADAH!

My early Christmas gift, minus the less appealing wrapping sack but what really matters is on the inside, haha!

Let's do some unwrapping business to see what I got from TaoBao. 😉

I bought two phone cases for Hazel but sadly I got one of them the wrong phone model. 😢

Lesson learned, always double check the phone model that you choose under the options available. Although it says there "Phone case for XXX model" but there are different phone models available for the same design.

TSUM TSUM!
Finally I managed to find them on TaoBao! And look at how adorable Stitch is with the alien hat on his head, just so freaking cute and I had to get it.

I also got a mini Totoro phone case and I think there are some other cartoon in it too. Not sure which is really belong to Totoro because I didn't grow up watching Totoro.

Here comes my favourite phone case of all, MACARONS!

It looks so cute and I almost bit them off when I first saw it, haha! 😀

I am not sure what Japanese cartoon is this but they are so cute with the watermelon print.

And they gave me that purple thingy as free gift. I think you are supposed to stick that to the back of your phone to make that ring kind of thing for your finger so that you can hold your phone securely, I guess.

I don't know, sometimes phone accessories are too fancy to understand, haha! Or maybe I am just too old to understand the new fancy things people are using, haha!

And I got myself a bonus item which I wanted to get for some time.

I had been browsing the internet for quite some time before I decided to get these cuties because I don't feel comfortable buying shoes online.

I love to shop online but there are few things that I would rather not to buy online especially shorts and pants. Sometimes those shorts or pants fit perfectly around my waistline but not on my thighs or the other way round. Skirts are okay because you don't need to worry whether it fits your thighs or not, as long as it fits nicely around your waistline then you are good to go.

Second is shoes. My shoe size is 7 but some of the shoes may have slightly smaller cutting size and I might need to get them in size 7.5 or 8. You can only know how well a pair of shoes fits you until you really try them on. Some shoes fit your feet perfectly but they are not comfortable, and usually uncomfortable shoes will end up in the storeroom forever, haha!

That was why it took me so long to decide whether or not I should get these Tsum Tsum slip on shoes.

So now I already got them, what do I think about buying shoes online?

Overall, I am happy with my purchase this time. Those are really adorable shoes and it appeared to be the same as the pictures shown online  I got them in size 7 which is my usual shoe size but these are a little bit loose for me. Just a little bit that it does not bother me that much because once I wear socks with it then it is fine. Maybe those are the rooms for socks, haha!

If you are interested in getting one or two pair for yourself (there are other designs available too), here are the links for you:

Last but not least, I got this key chain for no reason. Even my mom asked me why did I get this weird looking key chain online, haha!

It is Gudetama and I must have it, that's all.

Okay, that's all for my TaoBao haul for this time.

So far I've got 6 phone cases so I think I'm good and that's enough. Please don't let me see another cute phone case else I would end up with another 6 phone cases and my mom would definitely kill me for that, haha!

Okay, that's it for this post.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading as I enjoyed shopping online, haha!

Happy weekend!

Rachel.
