The Annual #Selfie Game

February 25, 2017 0 Comments
We had come to that time of the year again where my siblings and I would take tons of selfies just to appreciate how "pretty" we were.

Yup, we are that annoying and selfie happens when we all come together.

Okay, now I am being annoying, haha!
Mom said I should smile for the camera so say "CHEESE"! 😁

Oh yeah, BTW, any of you are Gudetama fan?

If you love Gudetama like I do then most probably you will like this new UT (Graphic T-shirts) Collection from Uniqlo

Here is a quick snapshot from Uniqlo's online store for you guys to take a look.

Isn't it the cutest egg on earth?
It is so cute and I had to get all 3 of the designs.

I am currently obsessed with this glob-like creature with arms and legs but that is not the main reason why I love it so much. The main reason why I fell in love with this creature is because of its freaking weird facial expressions.

I do not know about you guys but that egg's facial expression truly describes of what I am feeling most of the time, especially the one that says "seriously... I can't...".

Yup, that is me on a daily basis, "Seriously, I just can't, it is too much for me" then go back to bed hiding under my blanket. 😂

Okay, so go get those t-shirts before they are sold out (You have been warned)!

Okay, today's post is not all about Gudetama but about how we embrace our "beauties" through selfie.

Okay okay, please don't puke in front of your computer or laptop, please don't hit the close button and please don't hate me. 😝

So here comes the selfie game. 😂

We were actually trying to recreate those Instagram fashion blogger poses where they are kind of "stylishly" standing there with their handbags and all kind of stuff. Just trying to be glamorous in general but we failed badly, LOL!

So let's insert some hast tags for her, #ootd #notsofashion #kindacutehandbag #chicdress #notaniphone #cuteshoes #tryingtobeglamorous #idontknowwhatiamdoing #okiamnotcute

Then Charlotte and I decided to join the fun.

#iseriouslydontgetit #notglamorousatall

Okay, you have seen enough, I am sorry that I hurt your eyes 😂 and now, I am going to share some of my FiFi's pictures. At least she is cute and who doesn't like dogs, right?

FiFi as the Little Green Riding Hood.

Awww, she has the biggest and cutest eyes on earth. 😍

And sometimes, she decided to sleep like a normal human being (Of course it was me who covered her with blanket 😂).

And look, I had found FiFi in a cookie form and look at those derpy eyes of this cookie, haha!

I really enjoyed being around with my family especially my crazy sisters. The house would be so noisy when the four of us were all together, mom and dad would be like "can you all please be quiet for a second?". 😝

Okay, that is it for this post.

I know it is too late to say this but Happy Chinese New Year to all my friends and family.

Here is a nanoblock 财神爷 (God of Wealth) that I bought for my dad, isn't it cute?
And yes, it came in tiny blocks that you have to assemble yourself.

Have a great weekend everyone and I shall update you guys soon. 😊

Love,
Rachel.

Not My Birthday

February 18, 2017 0 Comments
Happy Birthday to You
You live in a zoo
You look like a monkey
And you smell like one too. 🐵

🎂🎂🎂

Some of you may heard this "zoo birthday song" from Madagascar but for me, my dad actually sang that to me when I was a kid and I would be thinking "Huh? Really dad? Do I really smell like a monkey? And how does monkey even smell like?".

Yeah, I was the dumb one in my family, haha!

Last month, we celebrated my BF's 30th birthday. Yeah, he turned 30 last January, sounds old right? I hate to break it to you but, we are actually not young anymore. 😖
Even the 90's babies aren't babies anymore, haha!

Okay, here comes the birthday boy, one of the 80's babies, haha.

Happy 30th birthday my baby (although you are no longer a baby 😝), I wish your every day to be filled with lots of love, laughter, happiness and the warmth of sunshine. Just stay weird and be happy.

BF's nerdy face. 👦

Since it was his big day so we decided to eat something fancy for lunch.

That is how you treat yo self! 😁

We did not know what fancy food to eat for lunch but we decided to try our luck at Bugis because to me, Bugis always seems to be like a place where food lovers would go. And of course, another shopping heaven for me, haha!

My life would not be complete without some shopping therapy during the weekend.
Oh wait, I thought this post was about his birthday, not about me going shopping, haha! Ops, my bad and let's get back on topic which is his birthday.

Okay, where was I? Ahh, the fancy lunch that we talked about earlier.

We walked around Bugis to find a great place for lunch and then we saw this, Mai Maison Restaurant which serves a mix of Japanese and Western food.

Is it only me or restaurants do always have the best window display?

Usually I will get attracted to restaurant with window display that showcasing all their fake food. I don't know about you guys but those "fake food" definitely look delicious than anything else in this world. 😂 (As though they are going to serve me all those fake food 😒)

Okay, now let's take a look at the real food that we ordered for our lunch.

We ordered Potato with Mustard Mayonnaise in Au Grantin Style as our appetizer and it was so delicious! I love potato and shrimp very much and this combination is awesome!

Appetizer: Potato with Mustard Mayonnaise in Au Grantin Style

If I were to try to describe my love for potato, I would say I could eat them for the rest of my life without feeling sick. You know when it comes to "choose only one food to eat for the rest of your life and what would you pick?" kind of question, I will definitely pick potato. Potato is life!

Plus there are so many ways to cook a potato so don't worry, you won't get bored easily, haha!

And for this case, sorry, I can't only pick one. All of them are freaking good!

Okay, I should stop talking about potato and and let's move on to our main dish. 😋

We order Seafood Paella as our main dish, yummy yummy.

I can never say no to seafood, this is another thing that I can eat for the rest of my life too if I were given the chance to pick two types of food to eat for the rest of my life, haha!

Main: Seafood Paella

And of course, we had to get some desserts to fill up our second tummy. 😉

I don't know what a Mont Blanc Tart is but this Mont Blanc was delicious. It was on their Christmas menu and it was something different from what we usually eat because usually we would just satisfy ourselves with those ordinary flavours like chocolate, strawberry or green tea, haha!

I liked it so much but, too bad it was only available for a limited time.

Dessert: Mont Blanc Tart

If you are looking for a great place to eat in Bugis, don't forget to give Ma Maison a try.
When you are craving for Japanese and Western food at the same time, Ma Maison would be the best solution for you, trust me. 😉

Okay, that is it for today's post.
Thank you for reading and I shall update you guys real soon.

Happy weekend folks!

The Potato Girl,
Rachel.

P/s: And also the seafood girl.

Holiday Well Spent

February 03, 2017 0 Comments
Hello Bloggies!

As you know, I am sometimes (all the time 😒) quite slow in updating my blog and here I am with my Christmas blog post on Chinese New Year. Can you see how slow I am right now? Haha, my apologies for the delay.

A quick flashback to last year's Christmas where I got to spend the holiday with my family in Singapore. My mom and two of my sisters (Ingrid and Hazel) came to Singapore on Christmas eve and they were here for 3 days 2 nights.

It was quite difficult to book a hotel room during peak season; either the room rate was too expensive (since it was peak season) or the location was non-strategic. In the end, I found a room on Airbnb and to my surprise, we actually had a great experience from using Airbnb. It was my first time using Airbnb and I did not realize how easy it was to book a room through Airbnb and you can actually find quite a few rooms that are cheaper than hotel rooms (suitable for budget travelers).

For dog lovers like us, we found ourselves lucky when we knew that there would be dogs in the Airbnb that we rent. Yeah, we are one of those people who will get very excited when we see dogs.

🐶🐶🐶

Dog: "Hooman are so annoying." 😂

We then went to Bugis Junction for some retail therapy and of course, my dearest sister Ingrid couldn't resist the urge to get a new bag at Charles & Keith.

👜👜👜

That happy face when you just bought your favourite bag.

We went to Universal Studio Singapore on the next day to have some fun. You can never say no to theme park and no one is ever too old for theme park. 😉

🌏🌏🌏

Okay now, let's go and meet the Minions, my favourite attraction in USS!

How can you not love the adorable and stubby yellow (even though yellow is not my favourite colour) creatures?
And look, Minion headband! 😍

Even mom approved it. 😂

We had a lot of fun at USS despite the hot weather. Just us being crazy together.
Then it started to rain heavily around 5:00 PM and this happened.

Mom was wearing a raincoat and I have no idea what were Ingrid and Hazel thinking. 😂

USS turned into a water park in seconds! Some of the rides were still operated and we decided to ride on one of the roller coasters.

That fun feeling to ride on a roller coaster on a rainy day.

After we got so soaking wet then only we remembered that we did not have any towels and we still had to take the train home.

The next question was how to "un-soaked" ourselves?

Okay, first thought on riding a roller coaster on a rainy day: FREAKING AWESOME!

Actually not that awesome when you can feel the raindrops poking your face like a needle. Ouch! 😣

It was quite depressing when the rain did not show any signs of stopping and slowly, it started to rain heavily. Most of the outdoor rides had to close because of the rain, why rain? Why? 😔

We then decided to witness the World's Largest Indoor Light Bulb Display and it was amazing. I can not imagine how much of efforts they had put in to create this masterpiece.

There were tiny light bulbs (824,961 to be exact) all over the place and the view was beautiful and magical. It was like entering the Narnia world.

In the end, the rain did not stop and we took the train back to VivoCity for dinner. Everyone was hungry after a crazy day at USS, hungry and wet, haha!

Dinner of the day: Monster Curry.

Hazel is a huge fan of Japanese curry rice and she decided to have this for dinner.

Hazel, Ingrid and mom were sharing a huge plate of Chicken Katsu Curry with an additional omelette and the amount of food in this bowl was insane.

Bf and I, we both shared a plate of Monster Egg Curry and the curry was really delicious.

To all Japanese curry lovers out there, don't forget to give this a try. 👍

At the end of the day, we were all exhausted but at least everyone was happy.

A holiday well spent with my family and going back to work on the next following Monday after the holiday was freaking blue. 😩

I am so grateful to have the chance to spend the Christmas holiday with my family.
Thank you mom and sis, you guys are awesome. 😘

Okay, that is it for this post, thank you for reading and Happy Chinese New Year.

I know it is too late to say Merry Christmas so buh bye. 👋

Love,
Rachel.
