You live in a zoo
You look like a monkey
And you smell like one too. 🐵
🎂🎂🎂
Some of you may heard this "zoo birthday song" from Madagascar but for me, my dad actually sang that to me when I was a kid and I would be thinking "Huh? Really dad? Do I really smell like a monkey? And how does monkey even smell like?".
Yeah, I was the dumb one in my family, haha!
Last month, we celebrated my BF's 30th birthday. Yeah, he turned 30 last January, sounds old right? I hate to break it to you but, we are actually not young anymore. 😖
Even the 90's babies aren't babies anymore, haha!
Okay, here comes the birthday boy, one of the 80's babies, haha.
Happy 30th birthday my baby (although you are no longer a baby 😝), I wish your every day to be filled with lots of love, laughter, happiness and the warmth of sunshine. Just stay weird and be happy.
BF's nerdy face. 👦
Since it was his big day so we decided to eat something fancy for lunch.
That is how you treat yo self! 😁
My life would not be complete without some shopping therapy during the weekend.
Oh wait, I thought this post was about his birthday, not about me going shopping, haha! Ops, my bad and let's get back on topic which is his birthday.
Okay, where was I? Ahh, the fancy lunch that we talked about earlier.
We walked around Bugis to find a great place for lunch and then we saw this, Mai Maison Restaurant which serves a mix of Japanese and Western food.
Is it only me or restaurants do always have the best window display?
Usually I will get attracted to restaurant with window display that showcasing all their fake food. I don't know about you guys but those "fake food" definitely look delicious than anything else in this world. 😂 (As though they are going to serve me all those fake food 😒)
Okay, now let's take a look at the real food that we ordered for our lunch.
We ordered Potato with Mustard Mayonnaise in Au Grantin Style as our appetizer and it was so delicious! I love potato and shrimp very much and this combination is awesome!
Appetizer: Potato with Mustard Mayonnaise in Au Grantin Style
If I were to try to describe my love for potato, I would say I could eat them for the rest of my life without feeling sick. You know when it comes to "choose only one food to eat for the rest of your life and what would you pick?" kind of question, I will definitely pick potato. Potato is life!
Plus there are so many ways to cook a potato so don't worry, you won't get bored easily, haha!
And for this case, sorry, I can't only pick one. All of them are freaking good!
Okay, I should stop talking about potato and and let's move on to our main dish. 😋
We order Seafood Paella as our main dish, yummy yummy.
I can never say no to seafood, this is another thing that I can eat for the rest of my life too if I were given the chance to pick two types of food to eat for the rest of my life, haha!
Main: Seafood Paella
And of course, we had to get some desserts to fill up our second tummy. 😉
I don't know what a Mont Blanc Tart is but this Mont Blanc was delicious. It was on their Christmas menu and it was something different from what we usually eat because usually we would just satisfy ourselves with those ordinary flavours like chocolate, strawberry or green tea, haha!
I liked it so much but, too bad it was only available for a limited time.
Dessert: Mont Blanc Tart
If you are looking for a great place to eat in Bugis, don't forget to give Ma Maison a try.
When you are craving for Japanese and Western food at the same time, Ma Maison would be the best solution for you, trust me. 😉
Okay, that is it for today's post.
Thank you for reading and I shall update you guys real soon.
Happy weekend folks!
The Potato Girl,
Rachel.
P/s: And also the seafood girl.
