Food Fest At Rocku Yakiniku

October 13, 2016 0 Comments
Who doesn't love food?

No matter how strict the diet you are on, there will always be cheat days.
You can never say no to food and you can never hate food.

Food is everything, food is life and when we get the chance to eat, we eat like a BEAST!

Few weeks ago, it was my cheat day at Rocku Yakiniku with the beasts!

Ian's selfie skill is ON POINT! xD

Rocku Yakiniku is a Japanese BBQ buffet restaurant and you actually get the chance to experience it in Japanese style charcoal grill.

This is how we grill our meat!

So far, Rocku Yakiniku has been my favourite BBQ buffet restaurant because you don't smell like a "smoked human" after dining in. The restaurant doesn't have the smokey smell despite it is a BBQ restaurant.

You know how irritating it is to be stuck in a closed restaurant with heavy smokey smell and the worst thing of all, you smell like smoked BBQ too. This is one of the reason why I don't usually go to BBQ restaurant, the smokey smell is just too much for me.

So girls, looking for a "smokey smell free" BBQ restaurant, try Rocku Yakiniku out, you won't be disappointed, trust me. ;)

Been there, done that and walked out "smokey smell free". xD

The reason why Rocku Yakiniku is free from all those nasty smokey smell is that it has a good exhaust system (is this how you call it?) around the BBQ pit, something similar to the kitchen exhaust hood where it sucks out all the smoke as it rises.

Greatest human invention!
Thank you for giving us a "smokey smell free" life, we couldn't be more thankful for that. =P

Okay, enough with the "smokey smell free" and let's talk about food.

Before we started grilling, we warmed ourselves up with some sushi, noodles, fried rice and whatever that were available on the counter.

We were given 100 minutes to enjoy our lunch for RM 49.90++ but if you require any extra time, you will be charged RM 9.90 for each additional 20 minutes.

Trust me, 100 minutes is just enough for your tummy to bear (unless you have a bigger tummy).

It is time to grill and let's leave the grilling job to the guys. xD

Since it is an all you can eat buffet so let's feast on the meat like a beast!

Ian had been grilling non stop from the minute our food was served.

Look at the amount of meat we were grilling at that time.

Never in my life have I eaten so much meat before.
After this, I am on a full body detox program, going vegan for the next few months, haha!

Of all the meat that we ordered, I personally loved the seafood more than anything else on the table.
Just bring me the seafood and I will be happy for the rest of my life. xD

We had salmon, scallop, mussel, prawn and butter fish. They were all freaking amazing especially when we grilled them with the sauce. I'm not sure what kind of sauce was that but it was delicious.

Everything was so fresh and it was so worth the price!

One thing that I don't really like about this restaurant is that they don't provide free flow of drinks.

We had 3 jugs of green tea throughout the 100 minutes of BBQ-ing but it was not enough.
It would be great if we like pay for 1 jug of green tea and get free flow of it.

You can't survive a BBQ buffet without lots of water, you understand the pain, haha!

Fresh food and great environment at an affordable price (I still need that free flow drinks though, haha), an awesome place to have a BBQ lunch or dinner with a bunch of friends.

So what are you waiting for?
LET'S GATHER THE SQUAD!

The girl who eats like a beast,
Rachel.

Undergraduate To Unemployed

September 30, 2016 0 Comments
Congratulations my dear sister on your graduation!

We are all so proud of you, mom and dad couldn't be any happier for you.
Congratulations on your great achievements!

After 4 years of studying in MMU and finally you have graduated and joined the unemployed squad.

To my dear little sister, I would like to welcome you to the unemployed squad and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Tough life huh? xD

Fear not my little sis, you will be fine, you can trust me on this. ;)
I was unemployed before I got my first job and I am still surviving now in the so-called "real world".

As for now, let's celebrate your big day!

The happiest moment ever when you receive your scroll and officially graduated after 4 years of torture! xD

Our proud parents and my mom actually bought a new blouse for attending my sister's graduation. You look great mom, haha!

And not to forget about us, the annoying siblings.

All of us as a one big family.

Ever curious what we were doing while waiting for the graduation ceremony to end?

We actually went on a FOOD HUNT because there were a lot of food trucks outside selling variety of food.
No one can ever say NO to food especially junk food, haha!

And ignoring me while taking selfie, how could you?

We all had fun on Charlotte's graduation day and it felt so great to be with family on this big day.

New beginning, new chapter, new endeavors and new challenges.
Good luck!

All the best in your future endeavors!

The proud sister,
Rachel.

10 Questions Review : Yves Rocher Pure System Daily Exfoliating Cleanser

September 21, 2016 3 Comments
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog.

In this blog post, I will be reviewing on Yves Rocher Pure System Daily Exfoliating Cleanser.

It is hard to get a good facial cleanser that suits your skin. I am not sure about you girls but finding the right facial cleanser for me is like almost impossible.

I had been switching up various kind of drugstore facial cleansers but I still couldn't find one that actually works well on my skin (I have oily skin btw).

One day, I saw Yves Rocher Pure System Daily Exfoliating Cleanser when I was surfing the net aimlessly (basically I was Googling best facial cleanser for acne skin) and I decided to give it a try.

1. What is this product?
Yves Rocher Pure System Daily Exfoliating Cleanser

2. What does this product do?
It helps in eliminating excess sebum, cleansing pores, dislodging blackhead and preventing spots from reappearing.

3. How to use this product?
Use it twice a day, during morning and night to wash your face.

Dispense a good amount of it and gently massage it all over your face in a circular motion or however you usually do it.

Lastly, rinse it with water, dab your skin dry and you are good to go.

4. Where can you get this product?
Unfortunately, Yves Rocher has decided to exit from Malaysia market by the end of November 2016 but you can still purchase it from any online beauty stores such as Hermo Malaysia.

5. What is the price of this product?
RM 49.00.

6. What is your experience in using this product?
I had been using it for the past few months but honestly, I didn't see any changes or improvements on my skin.

I am still breaking out occasionally. Although my acne problem is still under control but sometimes, I still get those huge red bumps that refuse to go away.

As you can see from the picture above, I still have some red bumps on both of my cheeks (UGH!!!).

It didn't really help in controlling the breakouts and sometimes, they got worse. It was just something that didn't really suit my skin.

7. Do you like this product? Why?
I would like it if it were an exfoliator but not a facial cleanser.

The microbeads in it really helped a lot in exfoliating my skin. My skin would feel soft and smooth after every wash but I do not think it is a great idea to exfoliate daily because it tends to dry my skin out.

I wash my face thrice a day, morning after I wake up, evening after work and night before bed. So, exfoliating thrice a day would basically rip my skin off, haha!

Although it helped in exfoliating my skin but I didn't feel the fresh and clean kind of feeling after washing my face.

8. Will you recommend this product to a friend?
Not really because I didn't see any changes or improvements in my skin. Although it didn't work on my skin but you can still give it a try, who knows it might work magically on your skin.

9. Will you repurchase this product in the future?
Honestly, no. It didn't really help in banishing the acne.

10. Out of 10, how would you rate this product?
8 out of 10 if it were an exfoliator but overall, I would give it a 4.

In my opinion, exfoliating cleanser is not suitable for my skin.

It may not work on my skin but it may work well on your skin, you need to try it out yourself to know whether this facial cleanser suits your skin or not.

Yes, it did get rid off my blackheads problem but it didn't really 100% cleanse my skin.
I would prefer a gel facial cleanser over an exfoliating cleanser because exfoliating cleanser is quite harsh for my skin.

Time to hunt for a new facial cleanser, any great suggestion for oily skin like me?

That is it for today's review post, thanks for reading and I shall update you guys soon on a new blog post.

See ya!

The girl who is hunting for a new facial cleanser,
Rachel.

My Obsession With Earrings

August 31, 2016 2 Comments
A girl can never have enough earrings, am I right?

I know, not only we can never have enough earrings, basically we can never have enough of everything including shoes, dresses, accessories and etc. This list would go on and on, to infinity and beyond!

That is why we go SHOPPING!

In this blog post, I am going to proudly share to you girls some of my earrings collection.

When I go shopping for earrings, usually I will just go for those with simple and cute designs. I don't really go for the statement earrings because they are too loud and bold to me, not really my kind of style. I prefer to keep it nice and simple.

Here are some of my minimal silver earrings that I got not long ago from Taobao.com.

These are my everyday earrings, they are very simple and they go with basically every outfits that you wear.

When you are in a rush to be somewhere else but you don't want to leave your ears looking boring, these minimal earrings will save your day. Haha! Trust me, been there, done that. ;)

Reindeer and snowflake are my favourite because I love mismatched earrings.
Life is too short for matching earrings. xD

Here are some of the mismatched earrings that I really love.

My favourite mismatched earrings?
BURGER and DRINK!

It would be even better if those were burger and fries but too bad, they didn't have those. =(

When you love food so much and you have to get them in earrings form.

Cupcake, lollipop, candy, strawberry, doughnut, burger and ice-cream, I am going crazy over these cute food earrings.

Hrm... I think I need more of these cute food earrings, earrings hunting time!

Where do you girls usually shop for earrings? Any great suggestion?

I usually get my earrings from Lovisa, they have a wide range of earrings from minimal earrings to statement earrings. Not only earrings, they are selling all sort of accessories such as necklaces, bracelets, hair accessories, watches, and etc.

These are some of the earrings that I got from Lovisa recently and I am so in loved.

When you are a big fan of Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse for life!

Look at how cute that tiny little red shorts is, SO CUTE!

Here are some earrings that are perfect for days when I am going for the vintage look.

Besides than all those cute and fun looking earrings, I am also obsessed with shiny sparkly earrings.

These look so elegant and classy and it would be a great match with an evening dress or days when you wanna dress up a little.

Last but not least, my one and only statement earrings and I am still clueless on why did I get it in the first place.

I bought this a while ago and I still have not worn it until now and I am not sure what kind of occasion it suits. Looks like these will be kept in the basket for some time now, why did I get these again?

Okay, that is it to my earrings collection and I hope I didn't bore you girls to death. xD

Phew, today is already the last day of August. Time does fly fast and we are left with only 4 months before 2016 comes to an end.

Oh God, can we just pause time for a while?
I am so not ready for this.

Raise your hand if this freaks you out too.
I feel you girl, we are all in the same boat, haha! xD

Okay okay, gotta hit the publish button before I continue typing on how fast time passes by.

I wish everyone has a great day ahead and I shall update you guys soon on another blog post.

Happy Hump Day!

The girl who is obsessed with earrings,
Rachel.

10 Questions Review : Annie's Way

August 18, 2016 1 Comments
HOLA ladies and welcome back to my blog!

It has been a while since I last updated my blog because I have been really busy with work and there were just so many things to sort out.

You know that kind of feeling when life gets so overwhelmed and you have no idea what to do next. Yeah, I was going through that kind of phase in life. Tough life, LOL! xD

Phew, let's just put that all away, sit back, relax and start writing or typing in this case.

Recently. I have been obsessing over face masks and I would purchase every face mask that I find interesting, be it a clay mask, sheet mask or any form of mask that is selling out there.

The happiest thing about face mask shopping is that I actually found some great masks that are suitable for my skin. (I have oily skin, like super oily skin)

WIN! It is considered as a great accomplishment to find something that actually suit your skin type.
Girls, you understand me right? =P

Maybe I should write a review on every face mask that I have tried out so far, what do you girls think?

Okay, for today's review post, let's start with Annie's Way face mask first.

1. What is this product?
Annie's Way, Charcoal Black Jelly Mask.

2. What does this product do?
Annie's Way, Charcoal Black Jelly Mask effectively helps in oil controlling, deep pore cleansing and also skin whitening.

I have a really uncontrollable oily skin and this was what I was looking for, something to tame the oiliness of my skin.

To girls out there who have oily skin, you know the struggle.

And it says here "Suitable for over oily skin". Yup, that is my skin you are talking about right there.

3. How to use this product?
First, wash your face with a facial cleanser and apply serum or toner afterwards as a base.

I am using The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil and Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion as my base before applying the jelly mask.

Next step, you apply the jelly mask evenly all over your face with the spatula provided.

Let it rest for about 15 to 20 minutes and scrape it out gently from your skin using the spatula.

Lastly, apply moisturizer or any facial product that you usually use after removing all the jelly mask from your face.

Here are the instructions you can read from the box.

4, Where can you get this product?
I got mine from Hermo Malaysia, an online beauty store which sells a wide variety of beauty products from Taiwan, Korea, Japan and etc.

So far, I haven't seen any drug stores or outlets selling Annie's Way mask so I am not sure where you can get this other than Hermo Malaysia. (Don't worry, I am not trying to promote Hermo)

5. What is the price of this product?
I bought it during a sales for RM 59.00.

6. What is your experience in using this product?
I am using this mask once a week just to pamper my skin a little or when my skin needs help, haha!

It is really a moisturizing mask and it will not leave your skin feeling sticky at all. I love how it always makes my skin feeling soft and smooth after every use.

You can't really tell the difference it has made to my skin from the picture but trust me, this mask has helped me a lot in oil controlling whereas for the brightening part, I am not really sure. Maybe I should use it more often to see the whitening result.

One thing that I don't really like about jelly mask is that it is kinda hard to remove. Hard as in I can't just splash water all over my face and hope that it will all go away. Uh uh, it ain't working that way because somehow jelly doesn't really dissolve in water easily. The whole sink would end up with black jelly, haha!

Apart from that little messy situation, everything else about this mask is awesome!

7. Do you like this product? Why?
Yup, I really like it! I love how moisturize it is to my skin after every use and it does not make my skin feels sticky or oily.

Besides that, it does help in controlling the oiliness of my skin and this is considered as a big YAY for me as my skin gets really oily maybe a few hours after I wash my face.

From my experience, usually sheet mask will leave my skin feeling sticky and oily, not a big fan of sheet mask.

8. Will you recommend this product to a friend?
Yes, whoever has oily skin like me, I would highly recommend you to try this mask out. It doesn't dry out your skin and it leaves a smooth and moist kind of feeling after you remove the mask.

It feels like silk on your skin, haha!

9. Will you repurchase this product in the future?
Yes, if I can't find any other mask to experiment with. Don't get me wrong, it is a great mask but I love to experiment with all kind of mask out there in the market. Plus, it is a huge tub of mask, I have been using it for the past 4 months and I am not even halfway through it.

10. Out of 10, how would you rate this product?
I would give it a 9 because it smells amazing, it doesn't dry out your skin, it moisturizes your skin and it leaves your skin feeling so smooth after using it.

Okay, that is it for this post.
I hope you girls somehow find it useful if you are planning on trying some new facial masks.

Time to pamper myself with a good facial mask, it is ME TIME!

Wishing you all a great week ahead and I shall update you guys soon in my next blog post.

Love,
Rachel.

I Am A Morning Person

July 09, 2016 0 Comments

Good morning to all early birds out there, I hope you had a great Sunday morning!

Today's blog post will be featuring some of the morning view pictures that I have taken a while back.

I am a morning person and waking up early to a beautiful view will instantly lifts up my mood. Something about waking up early and observing how the sky changes put my soul in peace.

Yeah, I am that kind of person. (I know I sound weird. xD)

That is why the first thing that I will do after waking up is to look out of my window and hope that I can witness something beautiful.

Morning views are considered as a dynamic kind of thing to me because it changes all the time and it is almost impossible to have the same view on two different days, am I right?

Okay, enough with the babbling.
Let's move on to the picture part of this post.

1. Gold Coast, Australia.
We went to Gold Coast on December 2014 and it was an amazing trip. Great place, amazing weather, good food and nice people, perfect!

We were lucky enough to get a room facing the sunrise and because of that, waking up every morning in Gold Coast was awesome.

2. Koh Lipe, Thailand.
We then traveled to Koh Lipe on November 2015, we chose to stay at Sunrise Beach despite the long distance that we had to walk from Pattaya Beach (where all the restaurants, shops and jetty are located at).

But waking up everyday to an awesome view was priceless! Although we only managed to wake up early for the first day and got totally knocked out for the other days. xD (Snorkeling was not an easy task to do!)

3. My Window.
And finally, the view from my window.

If I ever move out from this place in the future, I will definitely miss this.

Okay, these are all I have for now.

I hope to capture more of these morning view pictures in the future and I found out that morning beach views are the best (Craving for beach holiday).

One of the reasons why I am a morning person is that morning gives me the feeling of having a second chance.

Good day or bad day, there is always tomorrow which we called a second chance.
Everyday is a new day or a new start, you never know what life might bring you next. ;)

The morning person,
Rachel.
